Hello there! Hope everyone is doing Great! I’ve been out of town the last week visiting New Orleans on a business trip. No, not about beads, so sad. But something just as good. Training for a new position with Planet Beach Contempo Spa. So, I’ve pretty much had my head in a book and in a class all week, but I did try to find the time to visit some of the local fair. What a fantastic city! This city has come a long way since Katrina. The city looks great, yet you can still over hear the locals talking about Katrina everywhere you go. This is a city full of people with faith, hope and smiles everywhere. Makes one feel fabulous all over!
While there we took a local tour of the Haunted Ghost in the French Quarter, “The Quarter”, the locals would say. What fun……our host was wonderful, full of fun, life and many, many fantastic stories of old. While stopping, we took a few photos. See below, I believe we have caught a few “Orbs”, fields of energy surrounding a haunted home, and the stories our host told us, well let’s just say, Horrifying!

LaLaurie Mansion
They call this the “LaLaurie Mansion” at 1140 Royal Street. I quote from the book, page 27, New Orleans Ghosts and Vampires “On April 10, 1834, a fire broke out in the LaLaurie home while one of their famous parties was in full swing. It is believed this fire was started by the slaves to bring attention to their plight. The fire brigade entered through the courtyard and proceeded to put out the fire in the kitchen, which was located in a separate building. The Slaves then directed their attention to a locked room on the third floor.
Screams and cries could be heard from within the room. The firemen used a battering ram to break down the door and when it flew open, seasoned firemen fell to their knees vomiting from the stench of death within! Slaves were chained to the walls throughout, maimed and disfigured, obvious victims of cruel medical experiments.”
Wow! and you wonder why there are ghosts in New Orleans? Gives you the chills doesn’t it! and Guess what? Nicolas Cage, yes, Nicolas Cage the famous actor, now owns this home! Wicked huh?
We also had a chance to see “Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop” at 941 Bourbon Street. This building was built in the 1720’s and is now the oldest working bar, go figure, Bar, in the country. What fun to see buildings that are hundreds of years old, walk into them and know Real Pirates were there.
If you every get the chance to visit New Orleans, I highly recommend the tour, it was a blast! Below are some other photos we took.
